Great news for fans of sticky grenades, warthog driving dynamics, mouthy alien enemies, and impeccably polished mirrored helmets: new Halos are coming.
That was the announcement from Halo Studios, formerly 343 Industries, the developer who’s been running the show since 2011’s Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary. The original creator, Bungie, went off to make some game called Destiny.

Not just one but “multiple,” new Halo titles are in the works, and henceforth they’ll be running in Unreal Engine 5’s advanced polygonal finery.
And just in case anyone wasn’t sure whether that means the graphics will be good, Halo Studios dropped a six-minute tech demo called Project Foundry which shows recognizable elements of the Halo universe. Looks alright, doesn’t it?

While Halo Studios doesn’t come out and say it, the implication is that this upcoming batch of little baby Halos will be a while off yet. Swapping out your game engine is no simple task in the year 2024, so it’ll probably be a few years before we’re back in Master Chief’s big stompy boots, and throwing sticky grenades on to our mates’ backs in co-op because we’re hilarious.
