Since the time Bertha Benz put fuel on her husband Karl's four-wheeled contraption to go on a road trip in Germany in 1888, the business of selling petrol and diesel to individual cars around the world has been massive and lucrative. So much so that oil companies have devised creative ways of making fuel stations as attractive to motorists as possible. We can see that in the expansive filling stations on our expressways. The biggest ones have convenience stores, coffee shops, restaurants, shoe stores, even furniture shops.
But while our fuel stations are getting bigger and better, they still generally pale in comparison next to those in other countries when it comes to visual presentation. We trawled the Internet in search of photos showing the best-looking service stations ever built. We found 10 of them. We can't help but admire the owners of these fuel stations for their desire to not just provide quality service to their customers, but also amaze the latter by investing in head-turning architectural designs.
Check out the photo gallery below and imagine what it would be like to have these gas stations over here.
