Sometimes a partnership happens that just works on several levels. In September 2023 a special collaboration between Edifice and Mugen (legally known as M-TEC Company, Ltd.), the Honda works brand, will release its newest timepiece collection, and serve as the latest addition to the Edifice line of timepieces, according to Casio Computer Co., Ltd.
The new ECB-40MU is the first collaboration between Mugen, which is celebrating its 50th anniversary, and Edifice, Casio’s motoring-themed watch line. In case you didn’t know, Mugen is involved not only with Honda automobiles, but also in a motorsports-related activities like the Isle of Man TT—a motorcycle race run on public roads on the Isle of Man—and other top-tier races in Japan as a professional racing team. Casio has been a partner of Mugen since the motorcycle endurance race in 1985.
“We are excited to share the newest timepiece in collaboration with Mugen. Just like how Mugen exhibits speed and intelligence, Edifice created a watch that will fit racers not only in style, but also their lifestyle. Edifice is committed to continue bringing dynamic watch designs combined with cutting-edge technology to people,” said Tony Yiu, General Manager of CSC Time, Inc.
The Mugen brand colors of white, red, gold, and black are featured on the design set against an overall black design. Together with the Mugen brand logo, the Eye Commander logo is embossed on the band. The band is also made of Alcantara, that favorite material of race cars and sport editions of production cars.
As far as tech features go, the Casio x Edifice Mugen edition is equipped with Mobile Link features for pairing with a smartphone via Bluetooth, ensuring your watch is accurate all the time and making it easy to set world time. It also comes with a Schedule Timer that syncs with a smartphone’s calendar app to display the start and end times of a scheduled activity on the watch LCD. This shows that the Casio x Edifice Mugen edition is more than just eye candy, it can help organize your life, too.
If you’re ready to whip out your wallet at this point, the ECB-40MU will be available in authorized Casio stores nationwide this September, and will be priced at P24,950.
