The unique cafe is located along Malingap Street, right across Pino/Pipino, a long-standing institution in the popular Maginhawa Arts and Food Hub. While the area is well-known for having diverse restaurants and cafes, finding a place to park (especially for cars) can be a bit of a challenge during peak dining hours.

In terms of parking, we counted at least six slots for cars right in front of the cafe’s entrance, with a smaller space allotted for motorcycles. On-street parking is allowed, but it can get pretty tight toward dismissal time, as there’s a small school nearby.

Like most establishments in the neighborhood, you’ll have a better chance of parking if you arrive early or drop by during odd hours just for coffee. If you’re not from the area, we recommend visiting on weekdays instead of weekends or visiting by scooter, since it’s generally easier to squeeze into a parking spot. Residents and office workers from the area can simply walk or take a trike to get here.

We didn’t see bike racks during our visit, but there are a few al fresco tables if you don’t mind sitting and having your coffee outdoors to keep an eye on your bikes.
Old Ironside Coffee is one of the larger establishments in the foodie neighborhood. While there are a few tables to accommodate groups of two to three, there are also longer tables ideal for larger groups and families. The cafe is spacious enough for those with mobility issues to find a place to sit.

Overall, the atmosphere here feels modern and industrial, yet still cozy, like a private den or lounge. On quiet weekday mornings, it’s the type of place that residents or remote workers will be tempted to make their office for half a day. But it also looks like a great spot for coffee catch-up sessions after lunch or dinner with friends on weekends.
The main draw is the warm atmosphere and being able to appreciate all the brewing equipment up close.

Understandably, most brewing equipment and breakable pieces are encased in shelves that surround the space to keep them protected from accidents. Other expensive machines are kept in the private rooms reserved for meetings and events.
So what type of coffee do they serve? Old Ironside serves both hot and cold brews in different styles. For iced coffee, options include Espresso Over Ice, Affogato, Iced Americano, Iced Latte, Iced Mocha, Iced Spanish Latte, Iced Salted Caramel Latte, and Tultul Caramel Affogato, with prices from P120 to P250.

During our initial visit, we tried the Iced Spanish Latte (P180 for 12oz), which is one of their bestsellers. Their soft opening menu included an assortment of breads, sandwiches, and both sweet and savory pastries starting at P190, including Coffee Bun Cream Cheese, Butter Croissant, Ham and Cheese Croissant, Savory French Toast, Pull-Apart Garlic Bread, and Blueberry Cupcakes, to name a few.
They also offer cakes, which you can order whole or by the slice (or take out whole). Available flavors at the time of our visit were Mocha Chiffon, Triple Dark Chocolate, Carrot Cake, Burnt Basque, and Banana Cake.

If you’re looking for a formal space to meet clients or hold afternoon business meetings over coffee, Old Ironside Coffee seems like it could fit the bill. Aside from the main dining space, they have private meeting rooms with a seating capacity for six to eight persons. These come equipped with a 65-inch TV with an HDMI cable for presentations.

Additionally, for home coffee brewers, this unique coffee shop also has an on-site repair and refurbishment room, where they service and restore classic coffee machines.
If you’re looking for a new or unique coffee experience or meeting spot in Quezon City, you might want to check this cafe out. We found the overall vibe and experience enjoyable enough to warrant another visit when family members are in town. They recently renovated their kitchen to offer full meals, so we plan to try their food offerings soon.
Old Ironside Coffee/Museum is located at 40 Malingap Street, Teachers Village East, Quezon City. Open from Tuesday to Sunday, 10am to 9pm. Closed on Mondays.
