Crocs has collaborated once again with Disney Pixar’s Cars for a rendition of its Lightning McQueen clogs. Previously, the footwear brand featured McQueen in his signature red Rust-eze livery and Mater with his tow hook and exposed air filter assembly. This time, the brand gives another nod to fans of the first film, showcasing McQueen in his imagined Dinoco colors.

It’s been 20 years since the original Cars movie came out. If you remember, Dinoco was shown as the premier sponsor of the Piston Cup racing series, with reigning champion The King as the team’s veteran race car. In the film, McQueen dreamed of winning the championship to finally leave the Rust-eze camp and gain Dinoco’s sponsorship and the fame that came with it.

Ultimately, McQueen chose to stick with Rust-eze even though Dinoco’s boss, Tex Dinoco, offered him a deal at the end of the race. With this special release, Crocs gives McQueen an alternate reality where he gets to live out his old Dinoco dream...sort of.

The clogs feature a race-ready McQueen in Dinoco Blue. The brand’s dinosaur logo is placed on the front, while its name appears on the heel and the strap. McQueen’s racing number 95 can be seen on the side along with a blue lightning-bolt design outlined in red. The top halves of the wheels are also visible from the side, while the spoiler doubles as the heel strap.

Based on the Crocband Clogs, the Lightning McQueen Dinoco edition is water-resistant and has holes that you can plug with Jibbitz (small rubber accessories) that let you further customize the shoe. The pair costs USD74.99 (around P4,704) and is available in both kids’ and adult sizes. As of writing, these clogs are only available in the US, Australia, and Malaysia, but stock could arrive in the Philippines soon, as it did with the previous Cars collaboration and the Oracle Red Bull Racing collaboration.

What do you think of this new collab? Is it a ‘Kachow’ or a Ka-don’t
