Looking for something fun to do this weekend? Happen to be a fan of wristwatches, too? If so, then this event is for you. From today until Sunday, February 5, the Seiko Philippines Watch Showcase is open to the public.
The event highlights Seiko’s three main collections—Seiko 5, Prospex, and Presage—as well as numerous activities and prizes. There is even a raffle to win a Seiko 5 timepiece. To join, participants must complete all nine activities and take photos as evidence. They can then post the photos online and tag Seiko Philippines for a chance to win.
One of the milestones Seiko is celebrating this year is the 55th anniversary of the Seiko 5 line. To celebrate, Seiko Philippines is showcasing a limited-edition, Ultraseven-inspired watch. The package includes a nylon strap adorned in Ultra Guard’s uniform colors and ‘Terrestrial Defense Force’ lettering.

Another anniversary in 2023 is the 110th year since the Laurel, Seiko and Japan’s first wristwatch, was created. Seiko is now reviving the Laurel’s look and feel via another limited-edition piece as part of the Presage line.

Lastly, the Prospex Save the Ocean Limited Edition is also on display. The watch is based on the reference 6105-8000 diver’s watch from 1968. The modern version runs on the 6R35 automatic movement with 70 hours of power reserve.

If you want to just chill out, the event also has a Seiko Presage Prohibition bar area that serves coffee and various drinks, plus a calligraphy section for those who appreciate the artform.
If you want to see what Seiko has to offer up close, you can check out the Showcase at the Event Center at SM Megamall Building A.
