Motociclista Scatola (MSI) and Bikerbox recently made waves in the local motorcycle market with the launch of its newest entry-level sportbike, the Aprilia RS 457.

With a competitive P348,000 price tag, Aprilia enters a segment that’s long been dominated by the Kawasaki Ninja 500. It will also compete against the Honda CBR500R, another established nameplate in the market. But what does it have going for it, exactly?

Apart from the impressive sporty design, the bike also packs a lot of track-ready tech. And most important, it has a capable 457cc liquid-cooled, four-valve, parallel-twin that churns out a healthy 47.6hp and 43.5Nm of torque. On paper, it really does make for an enticing option for those looking for a sportbike that won’t break the bank.
