In case you missed it, the all-new Nissan Patrol is set to make its world premiere on September 4, 2024. In the meantime, the Japanese automaker is releasing a series of teasers, slowly unveiling key design elements of the large SUV.
Last time out, we saw the basic shape of the next-gen Patrol. This time around, it’s the tail lights we’re seeing for the first time.

For this generation of Patrol, it will come with C-shaped tail lights. It’s quite the departure from the outgoing model’s wraparound clusters. It’s also noticeably different from the luxury version, the Infiniti QX80. With that in mind, it’s a hint that the Patrol and QX80 might have truly distinct exterior designs, at least from the back.
There are a couple more things to take note of here. Because of the shape of the lights, we can say that the tailgate will have a look that’s unique to the model. The same goes for its rear quarter panels.

The next update will come later this week, and we’re genuinely curious what Nissan will show next. Right now, aside from its silhouette, we now know what the grille and a small bit of the rear looks like now. The hard points will be similar to the QX80, but it’s starting to look like the two will have even more distinction than before.
Specs are unknown at the moment, but one thing is for sure: The next-gen Nissan Patrol will be one of the biggest debuts of the year.
