For the most part, helmets are mainly for safety. That said, you can’t deny that these helmets also constitute a huge part of any rider’s getup, so style is of big importance, too.
Sometimes, though, custom helmets can feel a bit over the top—so much so that you’d wonder if safety was being compromised for the sake of style. Ever seen those helmets that look like they were taken right off the set of Alien vs. Predator? If you have, then maybe you understand our predicament.
But if we’re talking about custom Gundam helmets here, you can shut up and take our money.
We don’t really go head over heels with these kinds of designs, but we have to say that these new helmets from Bilmola have just the right touch of style we’re looking for. The set includes three snazzy colorways, inspired by the RX-78-2 Gundam, the MS-06S Zaku, and the MS-09 DOM.
Of course, safety always comes first when it comes to these types of equipment, that’s why the fact that Bilmola’s helmets are built with shock-resistant thermoplastic material is a win in our books. The helmets also feature three air vents up front and one out back, a double D ring strap, a dark smoke visor, and an emergency pull function.
These are also built ready for Bluetooth headset installations and are ECE-rated to boot. The helmets only weigh 1.6kg, and the sizes available range from XS to XXL. As far as prices go, opting for any of the three designs will set you back 3,500 Thai baht (about P5,500).
No word yet if these will be made available here in our market and how much the price tag will be if it arrives. Let’s say that does happen—would you grab yourselves one of these? What do you think?
