During last year’s Olympics, it wasn’t all about the medals and the awards for us Filipinos. A kababayan of ours also made headlines for capturing the hearts of spectators with her smiles and overall positive attitude—professional street skateboarder Margielyn Didal.
While Didal didn’t exactly bring home silverware from the competition, she still made her mark. She even contributed to the Philippines’ first-ever gold medal, according to sports psychologist Karen Trinidad. Now, Didal has just been rewarded for her achievements and contributions to the local sports scene: a brand-new Suzuki Burgman Street.

Didal shared on social media her new scooter from Suzuki Philippines, even sharing a kickass photo of her mid-air beside her ride. “Love my new Suzuki Burgman Street by Suzuki Philippines! Sa sobrang stylish at comfortable, ang sarap dalhin anywhere, skate park man o long vacation drives,” her post reads. You may recall that gold medallist and fellow Olympian Hidilyn Diaz also received a scooter from the Japanese brand.
