Have you personally met a former champion of the World Superbike Championship (WSBK)? Well, here’s your chance to rub elbows with one. Even better, you might be able to ride with him and other WSBK racers for some hot laps on a racetrack.
But here’s the catch: You must first sign up for the Ducati Panigale V4 Experience happening from November 21 to 24, 2018, at Clark International Speedway.
Carlos Checa, the 2011 WSBK champion who also tried his luck in MotoGP, is set to visit the Philippines next week for the staging of the Panigale V4 Experience, which is being organized by Ducati Philippines. The 46-year-old Spaniard will be joined by fellow riders Federico Sandi and Rebecca Bianchi and by Ducati Riding Experience (DRE) technical director and instructor Dario Marchetti.
Sandi has raced in the European Superstock 1000 Championship as well as in the 125cc, 250cc, and World Superbike championships. Bianchi, meanwhile has won the Women’s European Supersport Championship and competed in the WSBK STK600.
TJ Alberto, the first Pinoy rider to take part in the recently concluded European Superstock 1000 series held in Italy, will join the Ducati powerhouse team in introducing the new Ducati Panigale V4 S to local riders.
Twenty units of the Panigale V4 S (priced at P1,950,000) will be made available for test rides to select members of the motorcycle media on November 21 under the supervision of these five international motorbike racers. The scribes will first undergo a technical briefing. After that, it’time to tame the Panigale’s 1,103cc V4 engine, which makes 214hp, on the track.
Also, other riders who will join the open track day using their own motorbikes for a fee of P1,500 (includes a meal, event shirt, and medical insurance) can also experience riding the V4 S on the next day—for a separate fee, that is.
Whether you want to experience the sizzling Panigale V4 S or you just want to burn rubber on the track with your own motorcycle, this should be a thrilling event. See you at Clark!
