Triumph is picking up right where it left off in 2024 by starting the year with yet another new reveal, this time featuring the new Triumph Speed Triple 1200 RS.
For 2025, the Speed Triple 1200 RS features slightly wider and higher bars to go along with new decals and colorways. That’s about the extent of the aesthetic changes, though—what’s new here are the mechanicals and tech.
The 1,160cc triple powering the bike now puts out 181hp at 10,750rpm and 128Nm at 8,750rpm. It has slightly higher figures and peak torque is delivered a bit earlier in the rev range. The engine is said to be more refined, thanks in part to a revised dynamic crankshaft balancing strategy.

Handling has also been improved, with the Speed Triple 1200 RS’ suspension now boasting faster adjustment and improved comfort. The Ohlins SmartEC3 semi-active technology also promises precise and tailored handling.
The technology includes the Ohlins Objective Based Tuning Interface, which actively adjusts damping characteristics in real-time based on the current scenario. This is coupled with the bike’s adjustable steering damper that further smoothens handling.
After all the upgrades and improvements, the Triumph Speed Triple 1200 RS still just weighs 199kg when wet, which makes it a very manageable bike considering its big powertrain and all that it has to offer.
