India-based TVS Motorcycle Company has just introduced two exciting products to the country: the TVS Dazz 110cc scooter, and the TVS King Fi three-wheeler shuttle which is a big hit in many key cities around the world. According to TVS officials, the launching of their two latest products signals the company’s all out offensive on the Philippine’s fast-growing motorcycle industry.
“The launch of TVS King and TVS Dazz has opened two new segments for us and we are confident that both products will be well-received by the rapidly growing market,” says KN Radhakrishnan, president and CEO of TVS Motor Company.
TVS first entered the local arena of small displacement motorcycles in 2016, initially bringing in six products in the underbone, backbone solo, and business backbone segments.
A stylish three-wheeler shuttle capable of carrying four people (including the driver), the TVS King Fi will come face-to-face with its nemesis, the Piaggio Ape. Powered by a 200cc, low friction 7-port engine, this spacious, user-friendly trike can easily weave through traffic. The steel-bodied passenger carrier has a claimed top speed of 62kph and is equipped with an easy-to-operate parking brake.
Maximum power is rated at 10hp. Its impressive fuel efficiency is credited to its advanced electronic fuel-injection system, according to TVS. Radhakrishnan, however, is still mum on its price.
Meanwhile, TVS also unleashed its new TVS Dazz which is powered by a fuel-efficient 110cc, single-cylinder engine. Designed as a city commuter, this scooter packs 8.57hp at 7,500rpm and boasts a peak torque of 8.3Nm at5,500rpm. Both the King and Dazz conform with Euro 3 standards, according to TVS (Read more about that policy here). The TVS Dazz is priced at P49,990.
These two new products from TVS will join the brands local lineup, which includes the Neo XR 110cc, priced at P41,900 and the Rockz 125cc priced at P56,900 (underbone); the Apache 180 priced at P71,900, and the Apache 200 Fi priced at P109,990 (backbone solo); the Max 4R 125cc priced at P45,990 (business backbone); and the XL 100 priced at P29,990 (scooter).
Dealer principals from Wheeltek Motor Sales, Bacolod Eversure Marketing, Rhan Motor Center, Key Motors, Stargold Motorcycle Corporation and Gud Trading were present during the launching ceremonies held at the Makati Shangri-La.
While drumming up TVS' number one ranking in the J.D. Power Customer Service Satisfaction Survey for three consecutive years, Radhakrishnan assured the availability of spare parts and efficient aftersales service for all their products that land in the Philippines.
