Yamaha Motor Philippines (YMPH) recently made headlines when it broke two Guinness World Records and held the first-ever Yamaha Motorshow in celebration of the brand’s 69th anniversary.
With all that happening in one weekend, though, there was one thing that many people overlooked: the arrival of the new Yamaha MT-09 SP. This is the beefed-up version of Yamaha’s naked bike that we got to get a closer look at during the Bangkok International Motor Show earlier this year.

The MT-09 SP packs a familiar 890cc liquid-cooled, three-cylinder engine capable of 130hp at 10,000rpm and 93Nm of torque at 7,000rpm. It’s equipped with a KYB front fork and an Ohlins rear suspension setup. It also gets an upgraded Brembo brake system as well as a new digital instrument cluster with a new switchgear.
Unfortunately, no prices of the MT-09 SP were released just yet. The standard version stickers for P659,000, so expect the SP to go for higher than that. For now, you can just check out more photos of this new bike below.
