Asian Carmakers Corp. has brought in a more affordable variant of BMW’s compact crossover: the X1 sDrive18i.
Powering the latest variant of the X1 range is a gasoline-fed, 2-liter inline-four engine that delivers 150 horsepower and 200 Newton meters of torque. Paired with a six-speed automatic transmission, the X1 sDrive18i can sprint from zero to 100 kilometers per hour in 10.4 seconds before it reaches its top speed of 200kph.
BMW said the X1 sDrive18i’s power delivery is optimized and refined by the car’s Valvetronic valve management system, variable double-Vanos camshaft adjustment and adjustable intake system. Combined with BMW’s EfficientDynamics program, the X1 sDrive18i’s engine reduces fuel consumption and emission levels without affecting the vehicle’s driving dynamics.
The two-wheel drive BMW X1 sDrive18i is now available at P3.19 million. The first model made available in the local market, the all-wheel-drive, diesel-powered BMW X1 xDrive20d, now retails at P3.59 million--P300,000 less than its original selling price of P3.89 million.
