Auto Review, one of the country's longest running motoring TV shows, is holding its third marathon to promote road safety.
The 3rd Auto Review Run for Road Safety and Courtesy will be held on May 24 at the Ford Bonifacio Global City in Taguig.
"When you're using the road, whether you're walking or driving, you always have to be defensive and you have to make sure you're not hitting anyone. That's how we will promote road safety through this event," Auto Review producer and host Ron de los Reyes said.
Runners can compete for the ten-kilometer and five-kilometer runs or join the two-kilometer fun walk which will start and end at the McKinley Hill in Fort Bonifacio.
"The theme of this year's run is ‘I got the distance for road safety' as a means to encourage road users to go out of their way to contribute to creating a culture of safety and courtesy in the country," de los Reyes said.
Registration period for the Auto Review run and fun walk runs until May 22 at the R.O.X. store in Bonifacio High Street, Paul Calvin's Deli at the Forbeswood Heights in the Fort, McKinley Hill Information Center at McKinley Hill, all in Taguig City; and at the Restaurant of Choice at the Bahay ng Alumni in UP Diliman, Quezon City; and at All Terra in C-5 road, Pasig City (near Shopwise).
Auto Review's 15th year celebration will also include a basic motorcycle riding clinic to be conducted by the Honda Safety Driving Center, a talk on Driving Skills for Life by Ford Group Philippines, and a 10-point safety check by Goodyear Philippines. There will also be quizzes on road safety, a slogan-writing contest, an exhibit of car models, and test drives.
