The subcompact SUV market in the Philippines has seen significant expansion over the last few years—a testament to how Filipinos like their affordable people haulers. Now, we get to see a new version of one of the first entries to this segment: the Honda BR-V.
The BR-V first arrived in the local market in September 2016, bringing a new utility-oriented vehicle to the seven-seater segment Earlier this month, Honda Cars Philippines announced the refresh of this mini-SUV. Tonight, we finally get to see the updated version in the metal.
A slight rework of the front fascia includes a new chrome grille and front bumper, highlighted by the new LED daytime running lights and foglamps. The new version also sports new aggressive-looking 16-inch alloy wheels.
Under the hood, it gets the same 1.5-liter 4-cylinder i-VTEC gasoline engine capable of producing 118hp and 145Nm. Inside, this rugged machine packs the same roomy cabin and high ground clearance, deviating a bit from its Brio roots. The new leather seats with red trim give a racy vibe while also providing a more comfortable and premium feel.
Tech-wise, the slightly larger 7-inch infotainment system now gets Apple Carplay and Android Auto on the top variant—something we expect (or at least hope) from new vehicles these days. As far as colors go, Passion Red Pearl and Platinum White Pearl (for an additional P20,000) will be exclusive to the V variant, while Taffeta White will only be available to the lower S variant. Other available colors include Premium Amber Metallic, Lunar Silver Metallic, and Modern Steel Metallic.
With all these said, the big question remains: How much will it cost? Well, you can just check them out below.
