Suzuki RAV4 Suzuki Across? Yes, the Europe-bound crossover that Suzuki previewed back in July. Well, it’s finally broken cover in its full production form. Let’s take a peek.
Nothing has changed since we last saw this rebadged RAV4, but this time around, we get a more detailed look at it. Specifically, what’s under the hood. Across the pond, the Across packs a plug-in hybrid setup that’s made up of a 2.5-liter petrol engine paired with a 180hp, 270Nm front electric motor. This motor is powered by a 19.1kWh lithium-ion battery that enables an EV-only range of 75km. Combined, the setup generates a total of 306hp.
Only one variant is available, and this one features an E-Four electronic 4x4 system that provides genuine 4x4 performance and enhanced fuel efficiency. The E-Four system makes use of a 54hp rear electric motor that works hand-in-hand with the one mounted up front.
Other notable features in the Across include a nine-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration, automatic headlamps with auto-leveling function, and heated seats, steering wheel, and side mirrors.
The driver is also treated to paddle shifters, a seven-inch color LCD multi-information display, and an eight-way power-adjustable seat. Out back, the Across also gets about 490 liters of cargo space as well as a remote-controlled tailgate opener. Safety features here include a pre-collision system, lane-tracing assist, and dynamic radar cruise control.
The Across is priced at £45,599, or more than P2,875,000. It’s set to go on sale in the UK in November 2020, but Suzuki says that there will be “very limited supply availability” in the first full year. What do you think of it? Do you want see the features equipped in the Suzuki Across make their way over to local RAV4 units?
