Recognizing the growing market for SMEs, Suzuki Philippines has finally launched its Carry workhorse in the local market.
“Filipinos are a hard-working people. The all-new Suzuki Carry is engineered to match the level of dedication Filipinos put into their businesses. We designed this new workhorse vehicle to deliver any business requirements with efficiency and power to do more. With the all-new Suzuki Carry, we extend the Suzuki Way of Life! to small and medium enterprises and be a part of their journey to success,” says Suzuki Philippines director and automobile division general manager Keiichi Suzuki.
This newly launched workhorse is the successor to the Super Carry, albeit it’s more efficient and provides more comfort. We dare say comfort because the new Carry has a wider cabin—89mm wider, to be exact—and the driver’s seat can be moved backward by 105mm. Apart from that, legroom is even more generous in this cabin because the shifter has been removed from the floor and mounted onto the dashboard.
Meanwhile, under the hood is a 1.5-liter K15B engine that produces 96hp and 135Nm of torque mated to a five-speed manual transmission. Its 4.4-meter turning radius is also possible through the power steering, which is pretty helpful for a vehicle that’s intended to haul heavy cargo. Speaking of cargo, this truck’s bed measures 2,375mm x 1,660mm x 355mm—365mm longer and 75mm wider than its predecessor—and is strong enough for a 950kg load. The said bed is also fitted with 22 rope hooks and is accessible from all three sides, providing more ease of use for customers.
