Aito has officially entered the Philippine market. The Chinese automotive brand is the joint venture of familiar carmaker, Seres, and tech giant Huawei. Together, the two companies have created a line of luxury vehicles that take aim at a few of the biggest heritage brands in the world—Mercedes-Maybach, Rolls-Royce, and the like.

For its Philippine debut at the 2025 Manila International Auto Show, Aito has chosen its M9 electric SUV to be its flagbearer. Interestingly, Aito is an acronym for ‘Adding Intelligence to Auto,’ which explains the mountain of technology in this vehicle, as well as its modern design language.

For starters, the Aito M9 slides right into the full-size SUV segment with its 5,230mm long, 1,999mm wide, and 1,800mm tall frame. Its wheelbase also measures in at 3,110mm.

All that real estate can fit six passengers in an impressively comfortable cabin, and we mean comfortable. For starters, the cabin is outfitted with tri-zone climate control with an air purification and fragrance system. There is also a small refrigerator by the center console that can heat and cool. Every seat has a motorized backrest, including the seats in the third row. However, the first- and second-row passengers get massaging seats with ventilation.

The second-row passengers are really in for a treat as most of the Aito M9’s bells and whistles are fitted just for them. The captain seats boast 14-way adjustment settings with footrests and the ability to lie flat like a business class airplane seat. Those settings will come handy for watching movies on the road on the 32-inch “automotive-grade” drop-down screen.

Aito made sure to give the drivers some fun, too. Whoever sits up front gets a big infotainment screen with a slightly smaller 15.6-inch display that stretches across the dashboard. The 360-degree camera system with LiDar technology keeps drivers alert and aware of the road and the surrounding area.

However, no matter where you sit, the M9 is sure to provide a smooth and quiet ride. The glass used for the panoramic sunroof is double-layered, while the windows have been soundproofed to keep things extra quiet. The M9 then uses two suspension systems to keep drives smooth on any terrain.

And long, long drives can be enjoyed on the Aito M9. The Ranger Extended Ultra variant is advertised with a 1,239km driving range, with 233 of those on pure electric power. That is thanks to a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine and a big 52kWh battery. That powertrain pushes an AWD system that can make the 0-100kph sprint in just 4.9sec.
