Finally, some activity in the subcompact sedan market. We can all thank Suzuki for that with the launch of the all-new Dzire. It has finally made its debut at the Manila International Auto Show, and the Philippines is one of the first left-hand-drive countries to get it.
No longer merely a Swift with a trunk, the redesigned Suzuki Dzire has stepped out of the shadow of its hatchback cousin. One look at the car and there’s practically no shared sheet metal with the five-door.

There’s a more mature-looking front end with an angular front end with rounded-off corners. LED headlights are present and are for the higher-spec models. Its fenders are flared to make it look larger, but the signature chopped tail remains. We do say it looks more cohesive compared to the outgoing model.
In terms of dimensions, the 2025 Suzuki Swift Dzire measures 3,995mm long, 1,735mm wide and 1,525mm tall, making it the only sub-4-meter sedan in the country. It then sits on a 2,450mm long wheelbase. It’s also worth pointing out that it has a cargo capacity of 382 liters and a ground clearance of 163mm.

Moving inside, the dashboard is identical to the Swift that’s available in most parts of Asia and Europe. It’s a two-tier design with a ‘floating’ touchscreen display that’s tilted towards the driver. A refreshing break from all the digital clusters is a pair of analog dials.
The powertrain is comprised of a 1.2-liter, three-cylinder engine and an electric motor with a 0.072kWh battery, and you guessed it, it’s a hybrid. It’s then mated to CVT, and when combined, the electrified setup can make 80hp and 112Nm of torque.
The all-new Suzuki Dzire starts at P920,000 for the GL variant and P998,000 for the GLX. Thoughts on the new sedan, folks?
