BMW seems to want to provide a more bespoke motoring experience with its flagship sedan. When we say bespoke, we’re referring to a truly custom-made type of branding in the guise of the BMW Individual line of vehicles. Through the exclusive BMW Individual Manufactory, the prestigious marque transforms the already swanky full-size sedans into more select versions. Its latest creations are the 7-Series Individual Solitaire and the 7-Series Master Class.
Unlike other cars that scream their presence, this line is a lot more discreet, with just the mandatory C-pillar and rear-deck badges bearing the "Solitaire" and "Master Class" names. In fact, the only way to tell these cars apart from the standard versions without looking at the logo is through their exterior colors: BMW Individual Metallic Solitaire White and BMW Individual Metallic Black Gold. The colors are so special that these are applied using fine glass flakes placed on one of the paint layers. It’s that complex.
Just like the outside, the Individual Solitaire and the Master Class get nothing but the best interiors around. Special tartufo-colored Merino full leather adorns the cars' cabins, for instance. Meanwhile, the floor mats aren’t your ordinary rubber--they're made of soft sheared lambskin. Even the tissue holders on the doors are covered with leather. And if you get a bit thirsty while on the road, simply reach into the rear bar and cooling compartment located on the backseat’s center console where you will find a couple of tulip sparkling wine glasses.
But the highlight of the interior has got to be the five diamond inserts placed on the dash and the doors. You read that right: real diamonds on your dashboard.
Being the top-dog 750Li xDrive, the Individual Solitaire and the Master Class are powered by a 4.4-liter TwinPower turbocharged V8 that puts out 450hp and 650Nm. The trademark BMW ride and razor-sharp handling are made even more surefooted by xDrive all-wheel drive. And all this power is translated into a 4.7-second 0-100kph time.
So, just how exclusive are these BMW 7-Series Individual variants? The Solitaire will only be produced six times. As for the Master Class, there will only be one unit. And with partnerships like renowned watchmaker Girard-Perregaux, you just know that these latest masterpieces by BMW Individual are works of the highest craftsmanship.
