BMW thinks this is the perfect car for cyclists and outdoorsy folks

BMW has created a concept car that shows how a premium compact crossover\'s interior space can be utilized for sport and leisure purposes. Called the Concept Active Tourer Outdoor, the vehicle combines sporting aesthetics and style \"with sustainable drive technology, compact dimensions and functionality.\"

A carrier system for two bicycles, cleverly integrated into the interior, and other details supposedly make the Concept Active Tourer Outdoor the ideal companion for active recreational sports enthusiasts. Meanwhile, the variable rear compartment, together with the generous levels of interior space, has been designed to accommodate sports and leisure equipment. In addition, easy-care, hard-wearing interior materials are said to stand up well to contact with outdoor equipment.

A 1.5-liter gasoline engine, mated to a new plug-in hybrid drive concept, powers the Concept Active Tourer Outdoor, giving it the \"benefits of an electric motor and the attributes of a traditional combustion engine to outstanding effect.\"
