With 12 races already run in the 2013 Formula 1 season, Caterham has not scored a single point, which means it occupies the lowest rung in the ladder together with Marussia. Maybe the British team needs some lucky charm. And so, at this weekend\'s Singapore Grand Prix, Caterham has unveiled a concept car called the AeroSeven, which is based heavily on the team\'s F1 car--hence the carbon-fiber body panels and the green paint job.
As such, the AeroSeven is the first-ever Caterham to be equipped with traction control. The car also has a launch control much like a Formula 1 racer.
The AeroSeven is said to be capable of reaching 100kph from rest in under four seconds, thanks to a highly capable 2.0-liter four-cylinder Ford Duratec engine that produces 237hp and 206Nm. Power-to-weight ratio has been estimated to be at a very impressive 400hp per ton.
\"Over the coming years, we will be expanding our range of sports cars as we look to meet the differing needs and desires of potential customers--from the lifestyle customer to the ultimate thrill-seeker,\" said Caterham Cars managing director Graham Macdonald. \"The AeroSeven concept is the first model in that journey.\"
Looks fun to drive, doesn\'t it?
