Just over a month after The Covenant Car Company Inc., aka Chevrolet Philippines, introduced to our market the updated Trailblazer SUV with more powerful 2.5- and 2.8-liter engines, the company is now bringing the same power units to the Colorado pickup.
The news was shared by TCCCI marketing manager Mark Parulan to TopGear.com.ph on the eve of the Bangkok Motor Expo, where the updated Colorado will be first revealed to the ASEAN market.
So, from producing 148hp and 350Nm of torque, the 2.5-liter Colorado now gets 163hp and 380Nm, while the 2.8-liter unit now puts out 200hp and 500Nm from the current model's 178hp and 470Nm.
We also don't have to wait for long for the new and improved Colorado to reach our shores. Parulan added that it will be available in our local dealerships by December. A source from TCCCI even shared that the pickups are now being delivered to the dealerships as you read this, which means it could be available in a couple of weeks' time.
It certainly looks like the Ranger Wildtrak's reign as the most powerful pickup in the market will soon be officially over.
Ford Philippines, the ball is in your court.
