In the local battle of midsize SUVs, the Chevrolet Trailblazer is somewhat of a sleeper when you compare it to the likes of the Toyota Fortuner and Mitsubishi Montero Sport. Perhaps in an attempt to climb the ranks, local Chevy distributor The Covenant Car Company has introduced yet another Trailblazer variant: the 4x2 LTX AT.
The LTX features a few exterior and interior updates. On the outside, you get a two-tone bumper overrider, a rear liftgate spoiler, and a rear bumper scuff plate. The B-pillars have been painted black to augment this more menacing look. Inside, the LTX has jet black leather seats with perforated seat cushions and backrests. Its leather-wrapped tiller and door inserts are adorned with light gray stitching.
There are added safety features onboard, too. The rearview mirror has an HD in-dash camera that records on a 32GB memory card. There's also a reversing camera and rear park assist with all the usual beeps and warnings. All of these can be viewed on the 4.3in LCD monitor placed in the rearview mirror.
Powering the LTX is the same 2.8-liter Duramax turbodiesel that delivers 200hp and 500Nm, which is more powerful than both the Fortuner and Montero Sport. The new variant is now available in all Chevrolet dealerships nationwide, and is priced at P1,618,888.
Do you guys think this new Trailblazer variant is a top contender in the midsize SUV segment?
