Top Gear Philippines Philippine Car News - Do you want the next-generation Mazda 3 as a sedan or as a hatchback?

The third-generation Mazda 3 is coming in 2014, about a year after it made its global debut in June. That much was confirmed by Steven Tan, the chief executive of Mazda's local distributor, Berjaya Auto Philippines, in July, and reaffirmed to recently by the company's sales director, Japheth Castillo.

Although the first two generations of the 3 were made available in our market in both sedan and hatchback guises, we wonder if the status quo will be maintained with the third generation, particularly after Castillo's revelation recently that the Mazda 6 was only made available locally as a sedan because of its longer wheelbase compared to the wagon version.

Fortunately, a quick peek at the spec sheet of the next-generation Mazda 3 does reveal that the sedan and hatchback versions share the same wheelbase at 2,700mm. The only dimensional difference between the two body types are their overall lengths, with the sedan measuring 4,580mm and the hatchback being slightly shorter at 4,460mm.

Unfortunately, Castillo remained mum on what body type we'll be getting. So we're asking you, dear readers, to put forward your body-style preference for the Mazda 3 by taking the poll below. We assure you Mazda Philippines will be taking notes.

What body style do you prefer for the all-new Mazda 3?
