Dongfeng Motors Philippines (DFM) had previously revamped its lineup with a few rather impressive and weirdly named models. Now, the Chinese carmaker is further bolstering its lineup with even more promising cars and, of course, odd model names.

First of the five new models is the Nammi, a compact electric vehicle with a maximum range of 430km and fast-charging capabilities that let the car recharge up to full in just 30 minutes. The Nammi stickers for P1.238 million.

Next up, the Aeolus Mage. If you’ve heard about the Aeolus Huge, then this shouldn’t sound that surprising to you. This crossover boasts aggressive styling and packs a 1.5-liter turbocharged gasoline engine. SRP for this one is P1.249 million.

Arguably one of the highlights of the new introductions is the Rich 7, a pickup produced through a joint venture with Nissan. This off-road-ready truck is equipped with a 2.3-liter turbodiesel engine, a rear differential lock, and a variety of driver-assist tech. As for the price, this one’s listed at P1.298 million.

Next on the list is the Forthing U-Tour, an MPV that easily has the most unorthodox name among the five. This vehicle measures longer than a Toyota Innova and packs a punchy 197hp, 285Nm 1.5-liter turbopetrol. This goes for P1.358 million.

The most expensive of the bunch and perhaps the highlight is the MHero, the chunky-looking SUV pictured above. This fully electric off-roader has a maximum range of 500km and is capable of a whopping 1,000hp. The price is equally as shocking at P6.98 million.

“Dongfeng Philippines is offering the widest variety of propulsion choices to Filipino customers who may or may not be ready for that radical switch to electric just yet,” said Dongfeng Philippines managing director Atty. Albert Arcilla. “This has enabled us at Team Dongfeng Philippines to choose the most suitable body-powertrain combinations for our local conditions and market preferences, resulting in one of the widest segment coverages of any new brand in the Philippines.”
