Honda has a new compact urban SUV in the works, and it\'s on display at the ongoing Tokyo Motor Show.
Called the Vezel and designed for the Japanese market, the vehicle boasts an exterior design that resembles that of an SUV but with coupe-like styling for its upper body. The interior, on the other hand, \"is designed to create a high-quality space for the driver and the front passenger, and comfort and functionality for those in the rear.\"
For the Japan-market model, the Vezel will be available with two engine choices: a hybrid unit that combines a 1.5-liter direct-injection engine with a high-output electric motor; and a gasoline-powered one that uses just a 1.5-liter direct-injection engine.
\"Adopting new-generation powertrain technologies, the Vezel delivers both a dynamic driving character and excellent fuel economy for both models,\" Honda said in a statement.
The Japanese-market model will be launched on December 20, with the European-market version following in 2015. Honda failed to disclose if the Vezel will be sold elsewhere.
