The Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut has continued its noble, long-running quest to melt the world’s supply of timing gear by setting new production car speed records. Again.
“On Sweden’s National Day,” said Koenigsegg, “the Jesko Absolut delivered another historic performance at Koenigsegg’s home airfield in Angelholm, Sweden.” That historic performance relates to a standing quarter mile in 8.54sec at 360kph, and the half mile in 12.76sec at 373kph.

That’s a significant—within the realms of the whole ‘melting timing gear’ thing—improvement over the Koenigsegg Jesko’s quarter and half mile times back in 2025: 8.88sec and 13.27sec at 360kph, for reference.

While “both top speeds are the fastest ever recorded for a production car,” said Koenigsegg, that quarter mile time of 8.54sec at 306kph is a particularly melty one. “This remarkable run also marks the first time in history that a production car has exceeded 300kph over the quarter mile.”

Koenigsegg points out the Jesko did it with “a healthy margin, on an unprepped surface, on production tyres and with power going to the rear wheels only.” Talk about rubbing it in.
Though it’s quite some feat, attempting to safely transmit 1,600hp and almost 1,500Nm of torque, from its 5.0-liter twin-turbo V8 to the rear wheels alone. Koenigsegg test driver Markus Lundh was the man responsible for such an attempt.
“The performance was made possible by new software advancements that will be rolled out via OTA update to the entire Absolut fleet,” added Koenigsegg. Won’t somebody think of the poor stopwatches?
