Mercedes-AMG has played a big supporting role in the upcoming F1 movie, providing ‘Formula 1 team know-how’ that probably extends beyond race-day lunch prep. It’s now gone one step further with this special-edition Mercedes-AMG GT63, which wears a similar livery to the fictional racer you’ll see on screen.
Limited to just 52 units and dubbed the APXGP Edition, the new look consists of matte-gray paint, a fancy pattern across the GT’s hind quarters, and ‘Race Gold’ accents applied throughout, including the 21-inch cross-spoke alloys.

Merc’s Carbon Fiber package makes its way in, too, adding more of the good stuff along the front splitter, side sill, and rear diffuser, and there’s extra black-silver chrome trim courtesy of a tick on the Night Package II option.

It’s a similar story inside, with more gold along the door panels, instrument cluster, and center console. Black Nappa leather blankets the bucket seats. Don’t worry, you’ll get a limited-edition plaque in there. Standard fittings include a 15-speaker Burmester 3D audio system and an 11.9-inch portrait infotainment screen, filled with Merc’s slightly annoying MBUX interface.

Power remains unchanged, so this 4MATIC+ version will produce a hearty 577hp and 800Nm of torque from its 4.0-liter bi-turbo V8, sprinting to 100kph in 3.2sec before maxing out at 315kph. There’s active suspension, semi-active roll stabilization, rear-wheel steering, and all-wheel drive.
No word on pricing, but we’re expecting it to tilt north of the standard GT63 4MATIC+’s starting price of £169,000 (P12.44 million before taxes). Hopefully, the movie is just as good as the car.
