MG Philippines has taken the cover off the MG 4 Urban at the 2026 Philippine International Motor Show, and it’s quite the interesting launch. In the days leading up to the show, we were confused about why this new BEV had a single inferior variant compared to the existing MG 4 trims available.
The MG 4 Urban will indeed be available in a single variant, and it’s yours for P1,198,000. That price tag undercuts the MG 4 Standard by exactly P270,888—effectively serving as a new base model for the electric hatchback. Just like the RX9 and HS PHEV it launched with at the MG booth, the MG 4 Urban is also being offered with discounts and freebies to effectively lower the price to P1,148,888 for the first 100 customers.
But before we discuss range and power, there’s the looks to talk about. The Urban trades the edgy angles on the MG 4 we’re familiar with for more civilian curves. It’s a significant change, but that’s not to say it’s lacking for character. The Cyberster-esque headlights and ‘Union Jack’ rear lamps do give it an identity of its own that doesn’t stray too far away from its stablemates.

On to hard numbers, the MG 4 Urban’s electric motor makes 148hp. This is paired with a 43.2kWh LFP battery that supports DC fast charging. MG claims that 20% to 80% battery charge is possible in 36 minutes. This setup gives the hatchback an NEDC range of 403km.
The MG 4 Urban also marks a bit of an upsize at 4,395mm long, 1,842mm wide, and 1,549mm tall. For reference, that makes it 108mm longer, 6mm wider, and 45mm taller than the MG 4 Standard.
