The MG S9 has just been unveiled, and it will serve as the brand’s first seven-seater SUV. Packing a plug-in hybrid powertrain, the S9 is positioned as a versatile family car, with up to 100km of purely electric driving.
That is by way of a 1.5-liter turbopetrol engine and a 24.7kWh battery. However, the car’s combined estimated driving range, as well as its exact power output, has yet to be disclosed.

In terms of cargo capacity, MG claims that the S9’s trunk can hold up to 332 liters with all seven seats up. The carmaker also says that the SUV can accommodate as much as 1,000 liters. Presumably, that is with the second- and third-row seats folded.

The S9 will first enter British markets before an expected global release later this year. It had previously secured a five-star safety rating from the European New Car Assessment Program—thanks in part to its advanced driver-assistance suite, with 16 features on board.

Other features include heated, ventilated, massage-capable seats, along with tri-zone climate controls. The cabin also holds a panoramic sunroof.
Prices in the United Kingdom will start at £34,205 (around P2.71 million), and will top out at £36,954 (around P2.93 million). There is no word on a local release, but we’ll keep an eye out for MG Philippines’ official word. Would you want to see this in the country? Let us know in the comments.
