We believe the phrase goes something along the lines of ‘shut up and take our money.’ This is a classic Porsche 944 transformed into a very desirable Shooting Brake by a tuner keen to blend old-world Porsche charm with a touch of practicality.

Welcome to the GT-K44 by CarPoint—named like a discount car warehouse where you’d find a five-year-old Qashqai for cheap, is in fact, a German tuner. Its founder Andreas Freund once drove an “extraordinary” 924 Turbo Shooting Brake by Günter Artz in the ’80s and has wanted something like it ever since.

Fast forward to 2026, when Freund and his designer friend Michael Söhngen finally landed upon the bright idea of converting a 944. Freund said ja, we imagine, and the car above is the result.

As ever, the project started with a donor 944 whose rear was “comprehensively modified” (read: cut, welded and shouted into shape), featuring an extended, higher roofline, rebuilt rear quarter panels, and tweaked B-pillars. Plus some new windows because Shooting Brakes need a bit more glass.

The rear section is made from sheet metal and offers a huge aperture: It extends nearly into the rear bumper and up into the roof. The rear light signature has been tweaked; there’s a third brake light, roof spoiler, and even a roof antenna and rear wiper.

While the interior headliner’s bespoke, the rest of the 944’s cabin is carried over, which means the same rear bench as the coupe. This first car comes in a ‘Pasha’ pattern, but you of course can spec whatever thine eyes desireth.

Including the drivetrain. This car’s sporting Porsche’s 3.0-liter four-cylinder with 208hp, which “CarPoint particularly recommends” alongside the more powerful 217hp and 247hp turbocharged variants. Manuals and autos are possible, but CarPoint would greatly prefer you to find a car that’s the engine/gearbox spec you want to keep.

From there, the scope is all yours: wheels, tires, suspension, exhausts, engine upgrades, seats, steering wheels, sat nav and audio… anything you want, you just have to ask. And then pay. “We can’t make it fly, but almost anything else is possible,” the company said.

Each car starts from €100,000 (around P7.04 million), and you have to either source the donor car yourself or ask CarPoint to kindly do it for you. Nice, huh?
