The BMW 5-Series was recently unveiled at the BGC Arts Center in Taguig earlier today. The model, which we drove in Portugal last March for our cover story, is finally available here.
The launch was classy, to say the least, and the crowd cheered when the prices were announced. Three variants of the 5-Series will be sold here. Here they are with their corresponding prices:
*BMW 520d Luxury - P4,590,000
*BMW 520d M Sport - P4,990,000
*BMW 530d Luxury - P6,390,000
The BMW 520d Luxury and M Sport variants are powered by a 2.0-liter TwinPower turbodiesel engine that develops 190hp and 400Nm. The BMW 520d Luxury is fitted with chrome trim, 18-inch alloys, and rear passenger roller sun blinds. The M Sport variant has a sportier look, 19-inch alloy wheels, a BMW heads-up display, and paddle shifters.
The big dog, top-of-the-line BMW 530d in Luxury trim is powered by a 3.0-liter TwinPower turbodiesel engine that belts out 265hp and a jaw-dropping 620Nm. Nappa leather upholstery, 20-inch BMW Individual wheels, soft-close function for the doors, and the BMW Remote Control Parking—with which the driver can park the car while he is outside the vehicle by just using the display key—round off the enticing package.
The all-new 5-Series is the seventh generation of this famous sports sedan. Did you know that over seven million units have been sold globally? "Since 1972, BMW has been producing an award-winning vehicle that enjoys international recognition and success," said Asian Carmakers Corporation president Maricar Parco.
