Raptors beware: the T-Rex is back. US automaker Stellantis kicked off 2026 with news that the Ram 1500 TRX sport truck is making its return later this year, re-igniting the feud between it and Ford’s similarly prehistorically-named pickup, the F-150 Raptor.
The 2027 Ram SRT TRX brings back the 6.2-liter supercharged V8, now producing 777hp and 921Nm of torque, 57 more horsepower than the F-150 Raptor R’s output. Ram claims the resurrected beast of a pickup will launch from 0-97kph in 3.5sec before topping out at 190kph.

To facilitate all the inevitable dune-jumping, the TRX will be outfitted with second-generation Bilstein Black Hawk e2 adaptive shocks, paired with an independent front suspension and a floating rear axle, all riding on 35-inch Goodyear tires. Ram’s ‘active terrain dynamics’ suspension system will manage all the computing while drivers can focus on sticking various landings.

The half-ton truck will be well-equipped, featuring select luxury accoutrements from the lineup, including hands-free drive assist and a 19-speaker Harman Kardon sound system, though the V8’s going to be dominating the soundtrack, let’s be real.

Exciting news then, though not wholly unexpected. Despite Stellantis’ previously saying it wanted to shelve the dutiful Hemi V8, that’s now back in the 1500 lineup too: a 5.7-liter eight-pot with 395hp and 555Nm of torque. The 540hp six-pot 1500 RHO seems to be sticking around for a little while longer, too.
Ram states the big boi TRX will make its return during the second half of this year, with a base price of $102,590 (around P8.214 million). Better start practicing your landing face.
