If the name Engler Automotive rings a bell, you’ve probably been reading about its V10 and V12-engined ‘superquads.’ And yes, they are essentially humongously powerful supercars turned into hugely scary quad bikes.

Now, though, founder and CEO Viktor Engler has decided to branch out with modifications of a different kind. So, say hello to the Rolls-Royce CoupéTail by Engler.

It’s essentially a coach-built two-door version of the Rolls-Royce Ghost. In fact, it looks quite a lot like the all-electric Spectre at the rear, but here, there’s a breathed-on V12 under the long hood.

Said V12 now makes somewhere over 750hp and 1,000Nm of torque, meaning the CoupéTail will exceed 300kph and will sprint from 0-100kph in under 4sec. We’re told it’s quicker off the mark than a Black Badge Spectre. Anyone up for an ultra-luxury drag race?

The ride height has been lowered by 25mm compared to standard, too, but Engler says that the ride will still be “impossibly smooth.” There’s also newly enhanced soundproofing to house occupants even further. It also seems to have a shorter wheelbase than the Ghost so it might even be more agile at the same time.

We’re told that this thing is a tribute to the Phantom II Coupe of 1935, and just 19 examples will be built. Each will be bespoke to its owner, of course, while the new styling includes fresh bumpers, hood, and side panels made from carbotanium.

Oh, and the grille is a single-piece 3D-printed sculpture made from titanium. Good grief.

The interior can be specced with materials such as osmium, titanium, gold, Hermès leather, and ‘various gemstones.’ Plus, each car will get a bespoke, removable wristwatch to replace the standard Rolls clock. Just think of all the opportunities.

A new sound system by Art in Motion should provide top quality audio in the now two-door cabin, and five of the 19 cars will be Toni Mahfud Editions, thanks to a collaboration with the German artist. And in another artsy move, contemporary sculptor Lorenzo Quinn has had a crack at reimagining the Spirit of Ecstasy. Rather him than us, not least because we’re dreadful at art. Anyway, we’re told the new sculpture is to be called Artemis and features a human hand holding up a tiny winged lady.

“We won’t stop till we’re legends,” is the Engler slogan. Do you think the CoupéTail is legendary, folks?
