As you know, Volkswagen distributor Automobile Central Enterprise announced today the prices of the initial batch of cars it will launch on September 27. These prices are for the Jetta, the Touran, the Tiguan and the Touareg. Conspicuously absent from the price list is the Beetle, the most popular model in the VW stable. That's because units of the iconic car won't arrive on our shores until early next year.
Just the same, we asked ACE sales and marketing head Arnel Doria for a ballpark figure. How much will his company sell the Beetle for when it's finally available in local showrooms?
"Around P1.5 million," Doria replied.
We're guessing this is for the lower of two gasoline Beetle variants that ACE has listed on its website: the 1.2-liter Basic TSI 6MT and the 1.4-liter Design TSI DSG.
