The Suzuki e-Vitara has launched here at the 2026 Philippine International Motor Show as the Japanese brand’s first all-electric option in its lineup. The EV complements Suzuki’s mild-hybrid offerings, and also shares its platform with the Toyota Urban Cruiser launched earlier this year.

Suzuki focused on the e-Vitara’s price, range, and efficiency at the reveal, claiming that more details including availability and full specs will be available some time in the future. However, with a single price provided for the EV, this may be an indicator of a single variant.

We do know from the Suzuki website that a single electric motor powers the e-Vitara’s front wheels, making 172hp and 193Nm of torque. Suzuki also claims a range of 475km, contrary to LTO homologation papers claiming up to 426km. The automaker also declares the e-Vitara’s battery usage at 9.8km/kWh.

Suzuki also provides another figure to express the e-Vitara’s energy economy: 87.22km/Lge (kilometers per liter, gasoline equivalent). This measurement aims to be a consistent unit that can be used to evaluate a vehicle’s efficiency, regardless of powerplant (ICE, hybrid, or electric). As the market continues to lean into electrification, we expect to see this figure quoted by manufacturers more often.

The e-Vitara measures in at 4,275mm long, 1,800mm wide, and 1,635mm tall—virtually identical in size to the Urban Cruiser, albeit 10mm shorter in length. Ground clearance is also generous at 180mm.

Aside from its Toyota twin, the e-Vitara is also similar in size class with the current BYD Atto 3 and the recently launched Dongfeng Viggo. As for ICE vehicles of comparable size, crossovers like the Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos share similar physical footprints.

Suzuki prices the e-Vitara at P2,020,000. While this makes it around P100,000 more affordable than the Urban Cruiser, it also means the e-Vitara is the most expensive Suzuki vehicle available today. For context, the five-door Jimny GLX AT Rhino Two Tone stickers for P1,749,000—almost a quarter million pesos less than this EV.

How will the Suzuki e-Vitara fare against the competition, or even against the other options in the Suzuki lineup? Let us know what you feel about Suzuki’s first EV in the comments.
