Remember the \"shaker hood scoop\" that was popular among classic pony cars like the Dodge Challenger, the Ford Torino and the Pontiac GTO? It has made a comeback via the 2014 Dodge Challenger R/T Shaker, unveiled at the ongoing Specialty Equipment Market Association Show in Las Vegas. Dodge and Mopar collaborated on this project.
\"The legendary shaker performance hood is back,\" boasted Dodge president and CEO Tim Kuniskis. \"With its engine-mounted, fully floating scoop and exposed high-flow element that produces cold-air induction, the new Challenger R/T Shaker is the real deal.\"
This car is a throwback to the original 1970 Challenger R/T equipped with the shaker hood. The modern version is powered by a 5.7-liter Hemi V8 engine that produces an incredible 542Nm of torque.
Special features include a \"shaker-style\" Satin Black hood; body-color grille surround; roof and deck-lid stripe graphics; Satin Black deck-lid spoiler; \"Shaker\" and \"Hemi\" exterior badges; three-spoke, flat-bottom performance steering wheel; \"Shaker\" numbered dash plaque; high-performance front seats with aggressive bolsters; aluminum pistol-grip shifter; driver-selectable sport-mode powertrain calibration; performance-tuned suspension; four-wheel disc brakes; steering calibration; high-performance steering gear; brake linings and monotube shock absorbers; 20-inch polished-face aluminum wheels; P245/45 Goodyear Eagle F1 Super Car tires; and three-mode electronic stability control.
This car will hit Dodge showrooms in the US in the first quarter of 2014. You can start badgering CATS Motors for a unit if you want one.
