The Mitsubishi Lancer isn't dead just yet. In fact, Mitsubishi Motors Philippines has just announced that the refreshed Lancer EX is now available in the Philippines. Both the GLS and GT-A variants come with a variety of updates both inside and out.
Exterior-wise, the compact sedan has been fitted with a curvier and more aggressive-looking front bumper. Also, the two-tone alloy wheels have a new look, and daytime running lights are now standard on both variants. Meanwhile, the interior has been equipped with a new multimedia entertainment system with GPS, USB and Bluetooth capabilities.
The GLS variant packs a 1.6-liter engine (115hp and 154Nm) mated to a five-speed manual transmission, and runs on 16-inch wheels. The GT-A variant, on the other hand, comes with a 2.0-liter engine (148hp and 197Nm) paired with a CVT, and rolls on 18-inch wheels.
Buyers can choose from the following exterior colors: Sonic Blue, Amazon Red, Virgil Gray, White Solid, Carbon Black, Warm Silver Metallic and Sterling Silver Metallic.
Here are the official prices:
* GLS MT - P848,000
* GT-A CVT - P1,235,000
The updated Lancer was first unveiled in the US in October last year. Early in 2015, former Mitsubishi Motors Corporation president Tetsuro Aikawa said the car manufacturer had no plans to further develop the compact sedan. Maybe that position has changed since Nissan acquired the company earlier this year. But for now, this refresh will have to do.
