A new Volkswagen is on the horizon, and it's in the form of a small SUV. Meet the upcoming T-Cross.
First presented at the 2016 Geneva show as a study, the production version is scheduled for launch this year. Marketed with the slogan "I am more than one thing," it promises to offer more out of the SUV experience without actually costing more. Interesting strategy.
The T-Cross stretches 4,1077mm long, and is said to be "always front-driven," which we assume is either another marketing line or a description of its drivetrain. Naturally, it's built on Volkswagen's MQB platform and boasts roominess and safety galore. And speaking of safety, front and lane assist come standard.
No word if we'll ever see the T-Cross here. But it will be sold in China, and as you know our local VW lineup now consists of China-made models. Judging by Volkswagen Philippines' recent strategy of making its products more affordable for our market, we might just see this small SUV in the future. In the meantime, check out these photos and the video below for a sneak peek. We'll share more details on this new SUV once they're revealed.
