TopGear.com.ph Philippine Car News - Chevrolet promo: Saver plans for various models

Take advantage of the Covenant Car Company Inc.'s Chevy Savers Plans for the Chevrolet Aveo, Captiva and Cruze.

Here are three ways you can get a new Chevrolet until the end of the month:

1. Zero-interest. With a down payment ranging from 25 percent to 50 percent buyers can enjoy zero interest payments of up to 18 months.

2. All-in low, down payment. A buyer can drive home either the Aveo, Cruze or Captiva with a down payment of just P75,000, P95,000 or P160,000, respectively. The all-in package includes a one-year comprehensive insurance, three-year registration at the Land Transportation Office and chattel mortgage fee.

3. Drive now, pay next year. Shell out a 50-percent down payment and sign up for a 60-month payment term to get a payment holiday of up to three months.

Too bad the Camaro isn't part of these promo, huh? But that doesn't mean no one's buying the muscle car.

Our source from Chevrolet Philippines said the local market has received the Camaro quite warmly, despite its hefty price that starts at P3 million.

"Camaro enthusiasts are the ones who really buy the car," said Bel Laureola, senior manager of Chevrolet Philippines' marketing services division.

As of October 2010, five Camaros have been sold through Chevrolet Philippines, four of which are equipped with a V6 engine. While the V6 Camaro is readily available locally, buyers who are interested in getting the V8 variant is sold on a per-order basis and the waiting time is about 100 days.

Want to see a Camaro up close? Check it out at the 2010 Auto Focus Motorshow and Auto Expo at the Chevrolet Philippines' booth in the open grounds of SM Mall of Asia where a red Camaro is waiting to be scrutinized.

"We chose to display a red Camaro because everytime we displayed a yellow Camaro, buyers always chose that particular color and we’ve nearly depleted our stock of it (the yellow Camaro)," said Laureola. "So this time, we're displaying a red one and we're hoping that buyers also consider it as a color option for their Camaro."

It's not exactly surprising that the yellow Camaro is in demand. After all, it's the vehicle mode of the Autobot Bumblebee of the popular Transformers movie franchise.
