The Chevrolet Traverse is now officially here and you can check it out in Chevy dealerships, which are now under the Covenant Car Company.

A crossover sport-utility vehicle, the Traverse is a 3.6-liter V6 engine with direct injection technology and continuously variable valve timing, allowing it to put out 288hp and 366Nm of torque. Paired with a six-speed automatic transmission, Chevrolet claims the Traverse has a fuel consumption mileage of 10.203 kilometers for every liter of fuel--the best fuel economy of any eight-seater SUV.

The Traverse's exterior carries Chevrolet's signature dual-port grill while the angular taillights and 20-inch wheels give it sleek and classy look.

Inside, the Traverse is all about comfort and convenience as the driver gets an eight-way electronically-adjustable premium ebony leather seat as well as a steering wheel that's adjustable for both rake and reach. The front seat passenger sits on a similar electronically-adjustable seat with four-way lumbar control. Besides its generous cargo carrying capacity, the Traverse can seat up to eight passengers with its second- and third-row split bench seats being comfortable enough even for adults.

To make sure that getting in and out of the third row is a hassle-free affair, Chevrolet added a Smart Slide feature to the second-row seat. For added comfort, the Traverse's cabin has a tri-zone air-conditioning system and rear air vents.

Completing the Traverse's luxurious cabin features are its Bose 10-speaker system for surround sound that includes remote audio controls with headphone jacks, a personal connectivity package that includes Bluetooth and wireless technology for select phones, and a satellite navigation system.

Safety is also a premium with the Traverse, hence its five-star overall safety rating in its segment from the United State's New Car Assessment Program (NCAP). Besides its six air bags including the head-curtain side-impact air bags that help protect all three rows in cases of collision, there's also the Stabilitrac stability control with traction control, integral spotter mirrors that are integrated into the outside mirrors to enhance visibility on its sides, a rearview camera reflected onto the rearview mirror and the ultrasonic rear parking assist with its two monitors to visually alert the driver of stationary objects located behind the vehicle at low speeds.

"With all the features, functions and added values that the Traverse offers, one can tell that Chevrolet once again outdoes itself in creating the ultimate luxury crossover vehicle that offers people-hauling and cargo-carrying capability at its finest--qualities that are typically found in larger SUVs and we, at Chevrolet Philippines, are confident that its discriminating market will truly enjoy every ride and drive with their loved ones aboard the Chevrolet Traverse," said Atty. Albert Arcilla, chief operating officer and managing director of Chevrolet Philippines - The Covenant Car Company, Incorporated.

The Chevrolet Traverse is available now at P3,088,888 for the two-wheel drive variant while the all-wheel drive model can be had at P3,488,888.
