DPWH to repair various roads in Metro Manila this weekend

If you're planning to start your Christmas shopping this weekend, then you better prepared for what could possibly be one of the most horrendous traffic jams of the season. After all, not only will you be competing for road space with your fellow shoppers, you'll also have to deal with various road repair and improvement works that the Department of Public Works and Highway (DPWH) will be undertaking on major roads in Metro Manila.

From 10 p.m. tonight, December 2, to 4 a.m. on December 5, the DPWH, along with its various engineering district offices, will repair roads in the following areas:

* EDSA-Ortigas Service Road, Mandaluyong City (limits: bus lane fronting POEA);

* San Juan-Santolan Road, San Juan City (limits: eastbound lane going to EDSA inner lane between 4th Crame Street and 1st West Crame Street);

* EDSA, Quezon City (limits: southbound going to Quezon Avenue, the second lane between Kaingin Road to Quezon Avenue);

* Commonwealth Avenue-Zuzuaregui to Commonwealth Market, Quezon City (limits: third lane between Feria Road and Ilang-Ilang northbound and fourth lane southbound near the Km. 16 marker);

* Electrical Road, Airport Road and Andrew Avenue, Pasay City; 

* Tramo Road, Pasay City (limits: from Zobel Roxas to Buendia Avenue);

According to the DPWH, the repair and maintenance of these national roads in Metro Manila has already been coordinated with the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority. Enforcers will be deployed to facilitate traffic in areas affected by the repair.
