Diesel clothing brand has marked the extension of its sponsorship of the Ducati Team in Moto GP by launching the Monster Diesel Collection. Diesel and Ducati also collaborated to create a brand-new, customized model that's an "urban military chic" interpretation of Ducati's iconic naked motorcycle.
Using a flagship Monster 1100EVO as a canvas, Diesel founder Renzo Rosso and the Ducati Design Center guided stylists to create a military-inspired theme for the motorcycle.
Set against the black treatment of Ducati's Trellis frame, wheels, engine covers, exhaust system and forks, the exclusive Diesel Brave Green matte livery delivers a rugged military-vehicle feel though the front brake calipers are finished in yellow to make a strong reminder of the model's performance heritage.
Ducati claims that the Monster Diesel isn't simply a combination of colors. Instead, it has new and dedicated parts--specifically the passenger seat cover, exhaust system heat shields and dashboard cover--that were designed to enhance the sensation of being on a rugged military vehicle.
Diesel adorns each Monster Diesel with its denim-line label stitched on to the leather upholstered seat in addition to laser-engraving its "Mohican" logo into the new aluminum air intakes. The model's exclusivity is further enhanced with a metal plaque attached to the re-shaped passenger seat cover and engraved with "Specially Made for U," the owner’s name and individual motorcycle series number.
Since the Monster Diesel is basically derived from a standard Monster 1100EVO, it has the same technical equipment and specification, which means it retains the same 99hp, 103Nm 1.1-liter engine.
"The Monster Diesel, and the collection dedicated to it, reflect the 'coolness' of this iconic motorcycle and our brand in general," said Gabriele Del Torchio, president of Ducati Motor Holding. "The collaboration with Diesel, underlines our focus on the style and trends that shape the market and I am delighted to associate our world with that of fashion and, in particular, with Diesel. Both brands globally represent technology and innovation in pure Italian style."
The Monster Diesel "will be available at Ducati stores around the world from late July onwards."
