TopGear.com.ph Car News - Ford Mustang As Ford prepares for the Mustang's 50th anniversary in 2014, the carmaker's chief designer has hinted at a new design for the muscle car.

“We can't simply do an evolution of the 2005, 2010 cars,” Ford chief designer J Mays said in MustangsDaily.com. "With 2014 approaching we have got to take a jump forward. We can't lose the Mustang DNA, which is really important, but we've got to signal that Mustang has got another 50 years of life left in it."

Mays added that though designing an all-new Mustang that will still please the nameplate's loyal followers is a "daunting challenge," Ford already has a design team in place that is "up for the challenge."
