Ford is set to wow the global automotive stage during the Paris Motor Show with the display of the entire next-generation Focus model range and its performance version--the Focus ST.
The Focus ST stays true to the model’s sporting heritage by giving driving enthusiasts a car that combines performance and handling with an addictive aural experience. Underneath the Focus ST’s bonnet resides an inline-four, 2-liter Ford EcoBoost engine that was tuned to produce 246hp. Paired to it is a six-speed manual gearbox.
An aggressive exterior helps define the Focus ST’s sporty character with the front fascia’s deeper front bumper and gaping one-piece grille, which replaces the two-tiered design on the standard Focus. The rear also gets the same sporty treatment like the spoiler mounted above the tailgate and center-mounted exhaust pipe.
Inside, the Focus ST has sport seats with body-colored inserts and stitching, a trio of secondary gauges for the oil temperature, turbocharger boost pressure and battery charge, and carbon-fiber-like trim on the center console.
To make sure everyone will take notice of the range-topping Focus ST in Paris, it is finished in Tangerine Scream, a new body color that, according to Ford, reflects the new ST’s exciting and energetic character.
The Focus ST is scheduled to go on sale in early 2012. Let’s hope Ford Group Philippines eventually brings it to the Philippines.
