Ford is set to reveal the all-new Escape compact sport-utility vehicle at the Los Angeles Auto Show in November and it will be offered with two different EcoBoost turbocharged four-cylinder engines--a 1.6-liter and a 2.0-liter--to go with a naturally-aspirated 2.5-liter four-cylinder mill.

What Ford is most proud of, though, is the EcoBoost 1.6-liter powerplant that promises to put out 175hp and 230Nm of torque while being more efficient than the current-generation Escape Hybrid, which yields a fuel consumption figure of 13.179 kilometers per liter. The 2.0-liter EcoBoost engine's output, meanwhile, is at 240hp and 366Nm of torque.

Though Ford has yet to give even a glimpse of what the next-generation Escape looks like, it is believed that it'll be based on the Vertrek Concept compact SUV that the American carmaker showed off at the 2011 North American International Auto Show last January.
