Is this going to be the world's next best pickup truck? It better be. After all, Ssangyong Motor said it is the "simple" goal of the SUT 1 concept, which was unveiled at the ongoing Geneva International Motor Show.
"This evolution of the Actyon Sports has been developed in the spirit of Ssangyong Motor's design philosophy of 'premium, robust, specialty,'" the Korean carmaker said in a statement. Did you get that? Anyway...
From the concept vehicle, Ssangyong promises to build a "trendy sports-utility truck perfect for camping and skiing trips, transportation or driving around town."
The pickup will be powered by an FR 2.0 Active Diesel engine that produces up to 155ps and a maximum torque of 360Nm at 1,500 to 2,800rpm. Ssangyong's SUT 1 is also poised to meet Euro 5 emission standards as it produces only 193g of carbon dioxide per kilometer.
Production of the SUT 1 will start in the second half of the year and sales are expected to begin in Korea and other markets by 2012.
